The Summer UpdateWelcome to the first Hillsong Kids Update. Parents just like you have been asking for it; you want to be able to see what we are teaching your kids, learn the memory verse with them and partner with us to raise your kids to follow Jesus for the rest of their lives! So starting in Feb 2011 we are going to send this update once a month. Our goal is to make it short, informative and way better than the newsletters you get from your kids school! After working with the kids and families of Hillsong Church for almost 10 years now and seeing Cubby House (1 & 2 year olds) children now as teenagers serving God and loving His Church I can say that I am more passionate than ever before in doing all I can to build our local Church to reach and influence the world starting with every single one of your kids. What your kids believe by the time they become a teenager is probably what they will believe at the very end of their lives, so let's work together to instill a love of Jesus in their hearts at an early age. God Bless

Meet A FamilyEvery month we are going to feature a great Church family, but because this is the first edition let's start with David and Beci Wakerley.
Where are they from?
What do they do?

Something HelpfulAt Hillsong Kids, each month we have a new Memory Verse from the Bible - we call it the Big Word. We create a song to help our kids learn it so why don’t you ask your children if they can sing it to you? Taking the time each evening at dinner is a great opportunity to go over it with your kids. It's on the KDG sheets they bring home from Church!

After growing up in New Zealand Dave and Beci got married and headed to Hillsong Bible College and never went back, which isn't to say they didn't want to, after all New Zealand has snow, no predatory animals and superior Fish and Chips, but they both felt God calling them to the sunburnt land and stayed. They have been pastors at Church since 2003 working with kids and families ever since arriving at college. Brooklyn Justice Wakerley arrived in March 2006 and Orlando Stephen Wakerley in Feb 2010.
